Is anyone here running a propane injection system on a larger RV motor (not the standard factory auto diesels). I have a CAT 3116 and need a little more oooomph up some of the grades. I know kits are available for the stadnard automotive diesel motors (7.3, 6.0, 5.9, etc.) but I have the larger Cat motor.

What is you current engine rating? You may be able to get it increased in HP & Torque through a CAT dealer.

I have a dyno sheet of 205HP and 702 Ft lbs torque. But when I look at the Cat website, none of the engines match those numbers. Ie. the 200 HP motor shows a Torque rating of 500-600.

I do believe the 500-600Lbs. is more like it with the 200HP 3116.I have the 3126,250HP--860LBs.Why don't you go to your local Cat dealer though and get friendly with them?Unless you know the entire history of the PM of your engine,I would most definitely let them take a peek and especially let them adjust your valves. These are decent engines but they do need clean oil and much TLC for longevity. And they'll give you the skinny for power increases.

A real easy upgrade you can do is if your turbo has a waste gate. If it does, remove the pressure hose from the actuator valve and insert something in it to block it off. This will gain you some boost under load.
3116 fuel systems are not to hard to have the fuel rate bumped up on if you have the CAT overhead adjustment kit. Any shop that works on them should be able to increase the fueling rate (this IS NOT something you can do without the specialty tools). The injection pumps can also be advanced about 1 1/2 to 2 degrees to gain a little performance depending on your engines arrangement number.

i wouldnt monkey with your boost or fueling without adding gauges.
You can add propane to anything.....weather its feasable or not is another matter. marcdeluca has some kits and such and may have some insight.....
