I have paid for a Magnaflow 4" aluminized turbo back dual outlet exh.

How will the turbo down pipe handle the heat?
Understanding the heat accelerates corrosion, how long should I expect this system to last?
Compared to stainless?

Gonna drop kick the cat too, will it be loud on the highway?
Idling?

How do I inhibit the DIC for the cat?
I will be running edge evolution. Is there a down load for cat delete?

THANKS guys!

I have had 4" turbo back aluminized exhaust for about 80,000 miles with no apparent issues, but i seldom tow anything. My edge monitor has never displayed above 198 degree engine temp. As far as the cat goes, ive never owned one. 2004 lb7 texas issued. I currently have 89,450 miles.

I'm sure I'll hear about this but 409 stainless is not really made for corosive resistance. 400 series stainless is better for handling heat cycles. This is why alot of the O.E.s use it. The stock mufflers are really restrictive and hold alot of heat in the exhaust. They produce this heat to help the catalytic converters burn and it's the most eficiant means of quieting the exhaust. If you put on a 4" exhaust you'll lose alot of that heat. The heat levels will come down to a level that aluminized can handel just fine. We built aluminized systems for a long time and haven't had any problems with it. We also have a 100% no B.S. waranty. If your realy concerned about it I'd buy a 304 stainless kit. Thanks, Jerod Jardine

Thanks for the feedback and informative response Jerod!

I would have loved to own one of your exhausts, but living in Canada makes availability / shipping an issue at times, and Canadian dealers like to rape us!

I do have Jardine exhausts on my bikes and my ATV though which I had shipped from the states. Beautiful stuff, and the pipe on my YZ450 made an incredible differrence!

I have the mbrp aluminized system becuase I didn't want to fork over the cash for th 304. As Jerod has said the 409 stainless isnt meant to protect against corrosion and a lot of the shops around here have seen pitting. The only thing I was worried about with the aluminized was the welded on hangers. I bought some high heat header paint and gave the whole exhaust a good coating to make it look uniform.
