Hi, I'm new at diesels. Over here in Panama (latin america) I got a Chevrolet S10 Diesel. Its a Chevrolet-branded Isuzu with a 2.8 Intercooled Turbo Diesel engine. If you want the specs go here (http://cardomain.com/id/el_tico). I am in the search for more power, could anyone help me??

Thanks

Also, where could I find info about drag racing? I want to drag with my truck http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Looks to be a Brazilian made diesel. MWM (subsidiary of German firm Knorr Bremse. Mitzu is also using it in the Brazilian Frontier.

Overhead cam, three valves per cylinder.
Looks like 132 HP at 3600 rpm??

Nice gear train.. http://www.mwm.com.br/site/upload/produtos/fotos_detalhes/sprint09.jpg

It has replacable cylinder liners. Good thing!

i can't find anything related to performance but found this on the MWM website..

"1999, GM equipped its light pickup trucks with Sprint engines and, three years later, won its third championship in the tenth edition of the rally, as well as the International Coffee Rally, with the Sprint 4.07 TCA."

Looks like they are playing with these engines down there. You need to search for a specialty club or mailing list/forum devoted to them in particular.

The first thing we do is help it breath better... intake and exhaust.Edited by: hoot

Looks very similar to a Toyota pickup. Would be a nice addition to the states.

Heheh, yeah the motor is Brazilian MWM Sprinter 2.8 TDI rated at 135 HP @ 3600 RPM and 250 lb-ft @ 1800 RPM

The body is a combination of Isuzu Dmax and Chevrolet Colorado (if you compare closely). There are photos of the truck and the motor in my page (http://cardomain.com/id/el_tico).

What could I do to make her breath better? change the air filter box? what kind of exhaust should I put?

Hey Ricardo... you're famous!

I read you question in Four Wheeler today! Your engine isn't an Isuzu but it doesn't matter. Four Wheeler doesn't know much about diesels. It was nice of them to respond.
