Yea i have a 04.5lly GMC duramax. I wanted to know how to run 12.50 to 12.90 in the 1/4 mile. All i have on it right now is the edge attitude, afe stage 2 intake, and 5 inch bully dog exhaust.I wanted to try it the safest way possible. Please help me achieve this thanks jeff

you will need a transmission for sure...then a good tune, some weight reduction possibly

SunCoast V or IV with a Triple Disk Converter. But its all about how much money you have. Your lookin at $6000.00

I found stage 5 suncoast on elite diesel website for 5000 i thought that was pretty cheap, so i might go that

turbo, trans, tune, lift pumps, exhaust, intake, cognito front end supports, tie rod sleeves.
thats what mine (crew cab) took to run 12's...

You will need either nitrous or a bigger turbo to run much lower then 12.9
12.9 is obtainable by some on fuel only and stock turbo but I was not able to run better then 13.3 with my crew cab on fuel only.

fastest time ive been is in my sig. that was on the PPE hot +2 ET. truck had more in it but i couldnt get it to hook even in 4x4. with much boost over 8lbs it would spin.

so u are saying dont put the turbo on and just buy some nitrous. What kind of nitrous kit should i buy single stage or daul stage and also what brand. thanks jeff

I ran 12.82 a couple years ago at HRP with a EC/SB 4x4 LLY Dmax.
This was with PPE tuning and some stacked goodies, but stock engine.
I'd go tuning and charger with a trans. You can then spray into the 11's with a small shot should you get the itch to run a bottle.
A bottle refill is about $45, and takes you about an hour of your time. You will need at least 2 bottles (one filled, one in use) to run nitrous conveniently. So you will spend about $1000 to spray, and when you hit bottle #30, you could have had a charger instead.
From what I've seen, a charger is more reliable than nitrous to begin with. I'm always seeing people dinking with their nitrous setup to get it to work right at the track.

a good tranny and good tune will net you in the 12's .thats on diesel only with stock sticks and stock turbo.I've been 12.42@ 106 on these mods.(Of course with a little weight reduction)
