I think I might want to get an oil pressure guage for my burban. For some reason I can't believe my guage when it says I have 40 PSI oil pressure all the time (even when the engine is COLD and NOT running).
Does anybody know where I might get a working guage from or what the price might be?

If you want a stock guage, LMC Truck has them, or I'm sure if you Googled around a bit you may find some other vendor.

I'd personally just go to Autozone and buy an aftermarket guage (that's what I did, actually). I bought a cheapo 3-guage set made by Sunpro, and epoxied them into my dash bezel in place of the old guages. They look good and function well.

rokit do you have any pictures of you dash that way? I'm thinking of doing mine like that but want to see what others have done. I don't trust my old oil pressure gauge either it moves around way to much to be accurate. Sometimes it says 70psi and sometimes 10psi, then 40, 50, 30, 20. Constantly moving and its really annoying. And my temperature gauge doesn't work either and i don't know if its the gauge or the sending unit.

Do you mean that you want to replace the stock original gauge with a working original style replacement or that you want to upgrade to an aftermarket gauge?

If you just want another stock gauge I'd just go with a junkyard gauge. It probably isn't the gauge itself causing the problem, though... Most of the problems with the stock gauges are caused by wiring problems and bad sending units. They are almost never accurate... Even when they are working properly they are usually way off. The one in my truck reads zero with the engine off and about 18 with the engine running... I've been meaning to hook up a mechanical gauge but I never got around to it.

An aftermarket mechanical-style gauge is much more accurate if you don't mind the fact that most of them won't fit in the dash. Accuracy isn't the big thing when it comes to oil pressure, though... The main thing is that you want to know that it has at least some oil pressure.

I want to fix my stock gauges and have aftermarket gauges for Pyrometer, trans temp, and Boost Gauge (when I get a turbo).
