: what do you think
FORD-FAN7.3 02-20-2007, 08:58 PM poking around at the dealer today i found a black crew cab short box, LT1, duramax of course, spray in liner 34,000 miles. asking 31,000 for the truck. now i was looking new but for a year older and 20K less of the price tag, should this be considered a decent deal?
haulin-rv 02-21-2007, 06:21 AM Year? You should be able to get that truck new for under 40k. I have seen fully loaded LT3 truck for just over 40k. I would buy an 07 get the 100k warranty and likely be in the 38k range.
LarryJewell 02-21-2007, 06:23 AM I would rather have the older truck
Reineke 02-21-2007, 06:35 AM 02-06 GM Certified vehicles get the 100k mile warranty as well, so make sure it is a certified one if you can.

saratoga 02-21-2007, 09:24 AM Being that he said it's an LT1 probably means that it is an 06.
You could probably get a new 07 classic LT3 for 6-8k more. You don't mention what cab/bed configuration the used one is, but the price doesn't seem out of line however.
Ray H 02-21-2007, 10:39 AM Two weeks ago, I just purchased an 07 3500 LT3 Dually Classic, fully loaded with leather, rear seat DVD, etc. for $43K, plus got a $1K of accessories thrown in. My only problem was I didn't know about the 0% financing which kicked in a few days later. Oh well, it's only money.
FORD-FAN7.3 02-21-2007, 11:21 AM yeah its an 06 certified used. nice looking truck runs great appears to be well taken care of
thejdman04 02-21-2007, 08:15 PM Price a new one, for the way these old ones are holding value, if at all possible get a new. 3/4hd lt3 new standard cab around 35000 otd. 2003 std cab well equipped 70,000 miles, they are asking still 26-28000.
mgraveman 02-22-2007, 04:05 PM I agree-
I wanted what you want - but found a new one for 34k (06 WT). I thought that was a better deal than a sued one for slightly less.
FORD-FAN7.3 02-23-2007, 02:16 PM very true, i think i found the truck though and im getting a steal on it. 05 LLY with 4,900 miles on it, crew cab short box LT, fully loaded. 6 inch lift 20inch akuza wheels, its the charcoal black in color tan interior. waldoch conversion gorgeous gorgeous truck. $28,000 i can get it for.
mgraveman 02-23-2007, 02:34 PM SOME of those trucks had overheating problems when towing heavy. You may look up a service record before purchasing.
BigBadAllis 02-23-2007, 07:03 PM Sounds high. Bought an 06 GMC SLT loaded with the lBZ for $46,000
duramaxin14 02-23-2007, 08:02 PM If that lly didnt have over heating problems thats a deal from hell if u dont buy it let me no i may
FORD-FAN7.3 02-24-2007, 01:43 PM i knew the guy that owned it, never towed with it, drove it a few times and put in the polebarn, said he had no use for. truck is mint and he said i owe 28.8K on it make me an offer. i said how bout that and he goes you got a deal. ill get a few pics on here asap of the truck.
moosecountry 02-24-2007, 02:14 PM I would buy it, but check on the overheating issue. I don't know anything about the LLY overheating, but I know it does exist in some. That is a steal in my opinion!

mattofferdahl9 02-24-2007, 05:10 PM sounds like a good truck to me. I would try and get an lbz I think you may be a bit happier. That sounds like a really good deal I'd say. If someone payed 46k for a new 06 slt thats a SH**LOAD more than what this guy wants. Take a new 06 for 45+ and put a lift and wheels on it and see where you end up. I wish I went slightly used cause I'll never get my money out of this thing.
WVHunter 02-24-2007, 06:27 PM I bought a GM certified 2006 GMC Sierra, crew cab, 4x4, 8' bed, LLY 6 spd auto, 14,700 miles last week for $29,000
FORD-FAN7.3 02-24-2007, 07:09 PM its not a matter of affording anything. i use my trucks quite a bit and this truck will do a combination of being an every day driver and a work truck. i dont like spending 45k on a truck to throw tools at it and get it dinged up. i know there diesels and work horses but if im gonna work em i want something middle of the road.
