I'm still in the process of choosing a gauge brand / model for my truck. I plan to add 0-35 boost and 0-1600 pyrometer.

All of the gauges I've looked at so far are mechanical, however some say they have 'stepper motors'. I think I understand that the concept of a stepper motor to take vibration/fluctuation out of the gauge, correct? Can anyone explain the behavior difference in say a boost gauge with a stepper motor vs. one without? Is one more responsive? more accurate?
