I've got a 01 2 wheel drive extended cab allison and I have a question for you guys with boxes & exhaust how strong was your rig before the updates.Would it roast the tires stock or what?Mine feels strong once the boost starts building I put a test gauge in place and the most I've seen i approx.18psi is this normal. What was the best bang for the buck?

what are you planning on doing with? that makes a big difference. and if eventually you want to get nutty with it or not. Juice/attitude is good bang for tyhe buck and what I have and lots run here. its up there in price but it has lotsa cool bells and wistles.
yes that psi seems in line depending were you take it. I see 20 or so in 5th with it wooded stock. Mine never nuked the tires from a stop if I didnt spool it up first. Mine wont do it now with the juice, gneraly if I wood it from a start I get a bit of squeeling and once I get rooling a bit and boost comes on it starts fighting for traction.

Just a daily driver don't plan on spending thousands and don't want it to sound too loud. From all the dyno sheets I've seen they don't really show any with power or torque down in the 1400to 1800 rpm which is typical city driving range do any of these boxes sacrifice torque way down low

When you say stock I am assuming you mean engine wise.
When I had my truck stock with the 245's on there is was a strong truck. No inhancements at all. But when I installed the 285's it slowed it down slightly. It was still impressive with pushing around 7000 of truck weight, but from a start it was not as responsive with the larger tires.
I would agree that for $800 for the Juice w/ Attitude you get a great performance package.
As for exhausts you should not be able to really notice the decible change form stock to aftermarket when just cruising around, but when you get on it you will have some more noise but obnoxiously loud. You yourself will probably hear the turbo and the motor more than the exhaust sound.

I felt my truck was plenty strong when I bought it. See signature for stock performance. Once you have the added power of a box, a stock truck feels like a 20sec. slug.

juice adds a nice amount down lowhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif
Problem with dynoing a truck is you have to have a way to comand the truck to stay in 4th gear othewise it will downshift on you. Not a big deal but if you dont comand it to stay in gear then all you get a dyno graph starting at 2100.
Juice pulls nice on the highway, just a bit of the throttle(not enough to force a downshift) and away she pulls.
Stock they feel strong but once you drive modded your truck will bore ya. Its a sickness i tell yahttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif
The juice or banks or VA are nice because they have some trany slip protection built in. Dont go over a 90 hp added box. JMO, anything higher than that and you are playing with fire in regards to a stock ally living a long happy life. even a 30hp tune will make your truck feel like a new vehical though
The first gear in the allison is lower than normal, this gives you the feeling that the truck is very strong. Put a box on it in the tow mode and you will feel the difference. I would advise you not to go any farther with the power as there is some out there that will cause tranny problems.

My truck pulled my car hauler with our corvette in it like it wasn't behind you. The trailer is 4000 lbs empty and the vette about 3100. Not a very big load, but handled nicely. Put 4-inch magnaflow exhasust and got rid of restrictive air box by adding K+ N FIPK cold air intake and isspro guages. She'll haul the mail now. Wide open throttle results in almost 23 psi on the boost guage, not bad for no programmers or chips.

Stock -- pulled in excess of 18k# very well.
lvl 1 juice, 4" exhaust from flange back, swiss-cheesed intake box w/uni filter, 265/75 revo's on 16x8 wheels -- pulls in excess of 18k# extremely well.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif
I usually drive empty on lvl 2 or 3. I have never towed with a higher setting than lvl 1. I have never even tried lvl's 4 & 5. I am extremely pleased with the settings I use.
When the wife drives it(only a few time as she has to ask for the keyhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif), the attitude gets removed and juice set to lvl 0. She wants to know if they are putting the dmax/allison the Suburban anytime soon as she loves the power and mileage. The truck is plenty powerful stock, but is even more fun with a little power added. Edited by: flhrciblueice

my truck was not bad with stock tires but when i put 285's on it it felt sluggish , i bought the edge chip and all was good , now i put on 315's and it slowed down , cant beat 5.0 mustangs anymore , i need propane i think . 61000 kms so far and no problem with the truck , run it on setting 4 unless im towinghttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/uploads/DZZ_P80700075.jpg
