I was on ATI's site looking for a phone number so i can stop by there tomorrow and drop off my ATI converter for my dragtruck to have the stall changed. I saw that they have a single and triple disk diesel converters out not. I searched and could find alot of info and was wondering if anyone had any info and/or prices for them? I love ATI converters they are the only ones i will run in my drag truck!

You probably can't find any info on them cause there probably "new" to the diesel game. :) See you love your ATI converter--converters are like a love affair, it's hard to convience yourself there's something out there better but you really don't want to go out and find it cause you'll try to resist change.
I know ATI makes a good product but have they and the other "big" performance transmission companies actually done there own R&D or have they simply "xeroxed" the success of others like ATS, Suncoast and others? I myself would stick to proven products, unless "they" want you to there R&D for them.

I believe ATI buys the Precision billit cover and clutch assembly like Yank does. From there they are on there own as far as tech goes. Most of these companies are starting where the big boys left off 3 or 4 years ago. I see that some of them are using 8.1 gas converters with a cut down stator to get the stall in the right place. Not a good idea.

yea that is a short cut on there part. I dont know much about there diesel converters, i was just on there site and stumbles across it. I forgot to ask them about it when i was down there today to pick up my converter for my drag truck from them. If i was to buy a converter now id get a suncoast or precision. Even though i dont think ATi is cutting corners with the cut down stator. They did not want to change my 8" converter to a 6,000 stall from a 5,000 because they said it would make it to inefficient with a 200 RPM slip on the top end. I got em to change it anyways since im more worried about the 60' then the top end MPH.
