: 2007 GMT-900 Badges
mojoe01 02-17-2007, 10:58 AM Has anyone checked into replacing their current badges with the 2007 ones? I think that new badges on the older body style would be pretty unique. Does anyone have access to the part numbers for these?
Here is an example of the 1/2 ton Silverado badge on the door. I saw a new Duramax LMM driving on the road Thursday, but I couldn't get a good picture.
DURAtotheMAX 02-17-2007, 11:22 AM Ive been thinking about that too Ron. I think the new -900 badges would look really nice on the side. I like the "Silverado" text but I dont really like the -900 "2500HD" text because IMO it looks exactly like the dodge 2500HD badges

mojoe01 02-17-2007, 11:24 AM Does anyone have a close-up photo of the Duramax badge off the new trucks? Is it different than the LBZ badge?
06SilveradoLBZ 02-17-2007, 03:59 PM Does anyone have a close-up photo of the Duramax badge off the new trucks? Is it different than the LBZ badge?
Its the same as the LBZ badge. On the Chevys the DMAX/Allison badge is on the hood and the GMCs have it on the doors just like the 800s.
catch03 02-17-2007, 07:55 PM ben you read my mind i was thinking the same thing the 2500 emblems do look dodgey
mojoe01 05-15-2007, 08:26 PM I think I'm going to replace my badges with the new ones. There are a few other posts floating around on this topic now, but I thought I would list the part numbers here, since I created this thread. The prices listed are regular dealership list prices.
"2500 HD" badge, p/n 15129644, $17.69 each
Silverado badge, p/n 15129652, $19.15 each
My plans are to put the 2500 HD on the doors under the Duramax/Allison badge. I will put the new Silverado in place of the existing one on the tailgate. On the right side of the tailgate, I will put the GM Mark of Excellence square badge.
I know that they look like a Dodge, but I don't care anymore, now that I am seeing more of these on the road now.
Canada 05-15-2007, 09:51 PM I put the new style 2500HD emblems on my doors.......man they are tricky to get straight....the come on thin plastic.
Looks really good.....with the chrome of the Escalade door handles and the chrome in the door trim.
I like the idea of the Silverado on the tailgate........but I can't stand the square GM badge they started using on EVERYTHING.
I put my emblems 7/8" up from the crease in the door and forward as flush with the door trim.

jr.parrish 05-30-2007, 06:01 PM I added the Silverado badge to my tailgate a month or so ago, but just recently added the 2500HD badges to the doors, I think they came out well.

mojoe01 05-30-2007, 06:19 PM Those look great! :D I am doing the same thing to mine, but I am still waiting for the 2500HD badges to come in.
theaceman 05-30-2007, 10:26 PM I've been thinking about putting the Duramax badge on the hood like the new '07's
I think that is nice looking on those trucks...not sure how it would look on the Classic's
Canada 05-30-2007, 10:42 PM I dunno about the tailgate.....I'm just trying to keep the clean look.
I'd take the diesel badge off...they don't match the new style emblems.
GMC2500HD 06-01-2007, 10:13 AM Are the GMC emblems the same, do they just say 2500HD or do they have GMC at the front like they do on the 06?
GMC2500HD 06-01-2007, 10:57 AM Nevermind I got my answer, just ordered mine...
06DMAX00CAMSS 06-02-2007, 11:50 AM I believe they're the same. I went by Ron Carter to get a better look before I ordered and I don't recall the GMCs having anything more than the Chevys.
By the way, my 2500HDs came in on Thursday. I have the Silverado as well, but I may get the holes filled in before I put it on.
mojoe01 06-02-2007, 12:53 PM but I may get the holes filled in before I put it on.
What holes?
06DMAX00CAMSS 06-02-2007, 01:18 PM I wana remove the tailgate protector and there are 4 hex holes behind it. I plan to get them welded up, smoothed, and painted. No point in putting the Silverado on now if its gona have to come back off.
Silverado and Chevrolet on the tailgate?
05DuramaxHD 06-05-2007, 06:30 PM Will have pictures soon, camera was dead last night.
put the 2500 hd on the sides and silverado and chevrolet on the tailgate

Ok- rephrase for you, they are the "newer style", don't look like the old ones, sorry you needed clarification on that. No they are ebay knock offs, think I read something about that in another post, but they are close. ;)
06DMAX00CAMSS 06-07-2007, 05:28 PM Why buy knockoffs off of Ebay? The 2500HD are like $11 each and the SILVERADO was like $13. They look good, but I like the OEM ones better.

You must have a better dealer than mine, because I paid $19.15 for the Silverado and $17.69 each for the 2500HD (plus tax). Where did you get yours? I should have gone there.
akk82 06-08-2007, 10:00 AM Mine will be here today! FYI purchased 2500HD @ the dealer for 17.95. Dealer cost is 10 something.

No way. If you purchased (2) 2500HD and (1) Silverado, then you're total would be $49.20 if you weren't a NC resident.
I got a slight discount by the way. ;)

The 2500HD are the same for the Silverado and Sierra. Granted you'll be purchasing a Sierra as opposed to the Silverado. I highly doubt there's a $16 difference between the Silverado and Sierra. Did you overlook going to checkout and seeing that they charge you shipping and handling?

The only one I can think of is Big Angry's. Granted he has a Reflexxions Cowl Induction Hood, but you can still get an idea of how it would look.

Mine were cheap because I bought just the base model: badges only without the body, chassis, and LMM powertrain. Those dealership sales guys always try to upsell, but I didn't fall for it this time! ;)

Dirt51 07-30-2007, 11:34 AM I have the new body style, and one ofthe first things I did was take all the badges off! I figure when Chevy wants to help me with my truck payment, they can advertise on my truck.

Here is an example of the 1/2 ton Silverado badge on the door. I saw a new Duramax LMM driving on the road Thursday, but I couldn't get a good picture.
the gm part numbers for the 07' badges are.....
silverado badge:15129652 $ 23.73
2500 HD door badge:15129644 $21.92
DMAX/allison tranny hood badge:15826620 $24.32
i suppose there are some advantages to working parts at a chevy dealership.

mojoe01 08-01-2007, 05:19 PM What difference does it make if GM didn't come up with them first? They still look great, and I don't really think too many people are going to confuse my Chevy for a Dodge!
You are entitled to your opinion, but I think the new badges look much classier than the old ones. The difference in the styling is night and day to me. :)

I did this the first day I owned her. The rest are gonzo. I think it's the perfect spot for them, what do you guys think?
You have to at least have some evidence to warn ricers that want to play, I just made sure that they wouldn't be able to see them from their lowriders.
The new emblems look way better - a lot more fancy and luxurious
Railer24 09-09-2007, 01:54 AM So what do you guys think looks better.
The GM square and then the 2500 HD or just the 2500 HD.
I can't decide but it I think the GM square seems to make it all look like too much.
What are your opinions?

For the 2500 HD badges (2) and the silverado badge, its only $49 at gmpartsdirect.com $67 if you go to the dealer with the prices mentioned above.
even with the high shipping and 30% overhead charge.

braddunagan 12-30-2007, 03:33 PM Just wanted to add this to the post for those attempting to remove your old badges and decals. This is the best way I have found to do it. If your adding badges after you remove them be sure to first wash clean then rub the area down with rubbing alcohol. I just removed mine off my 06. I have removed badges and emblems before on many other things. What I have discovered works best for me is a heat gun, plastic paint scraper, and WD-40. I always plan on destroying the badges since you can always buy more. Heat the badge, decal or emblem just enough to get it off without leaving too much glue left behind. Then heat the area with glue left behind hot but not hot enough to damage the paint. Paint will take allot more heat than people think. Once it is hot spray the WD-40 on liberally and start scraping. It may steam a little. That is ok! The WD-40 keeps the glue from sticking back to the paint or the scraper and helps dissolve it. You can also spray the scraper down with WD-40. It comes off easier than any other thing I have tried. You can do it with a hair dryer if your not comfortable with a heat gun or just don't have one but you may have to keep re-heating it and it may take longer to heat up. I have tried all the glue removers, decal removers, lighter fluids and specialty items out there (pretty much all the same thing). Trust me when I say this works best and is the fastest. If the scraper scratches the paint (not likely) you can wax it or buff it out easily. Just my two cents but if you think it makes sense. The biggest problem with the removers out their is they soften the glue and then evaporate quickly. The glue gets loose then goes back sticky when your scraping and just re-sticks to whatever your working on making a huge mess on everything. Take a clean sticker and spray the sticky side with WD-40 and see what you can stick it on! I removed every sticker and decal on my truck in about an hour using this method. This included the extra decals I added and the Banks decals!

gm-man 02-10-2008, 12:16 PM No one had the part number for the "sierra" new style for tailgate?
braddunagan 02-10-2008, 08:05 PM The GM Block P/N is 15223483 they should be some where around $6 each.
Are you sure that is the correct part number? I checked GMpartsdirsect.com and it comes up as a package of 5 "emblem" for a total of $29.15. Why would you need 5? Is there an individual part number?
