It's pretty straight forward. You'll need a T-case adapter gasket for reassembly. There is other info here.

No drinking allowed! Transgo book will help big time, Allison book will tell you squat. I will be happy to help on my cell. I can talk you through the whole thing. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif Don't believe anything Eric says, he has only done a hundred Allys, whereas I have done a hundred and one. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Hug.gif Eric is going to kick my butt good now. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

The main thing you need to know is that the allison is one heavy SOB. have a friend. Also take some measurerments to make sure you can get the allison out from underneath the truck and back underneath it. Sounds like a no brainer but.....well.....yeah.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif DRain the allison and the tcase, get the converter off asap.

Have fun!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

My Advice is this,

PAY TO HAVE IT REMOVED AND PUT BACK IN............http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

The shop I dealt with had it out in under 2 hours, gave it to me for the rebuild and re-installed it fluid and all, running on the lift for initial break in in under 3 hours.

I paid a total of $342.00 for the R&R.........so for me it was money well spent http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif .
