I have 2000 miles on my truck and want to replace my external filter on my allison. How much tranny fluid should I put back in?

One pint'ish.


I'd just clean the magnet and fill up the spin'on cartridge. Go for a spin get it up to operating temp and check fluid add where necessary.

If you do it Mackin's way, you won't need to add tranny fluid.

Mack, So what you're saying is no new filter and just clean the magnet. Fill the spin on up with fluid and put back on then check tranny fluid level when up to operating temp. Sounds easy enough. Now this may sound stupid to you guys but where is the magnet located? Haven't done this before so I don't want to mess it up. Thanks for your help
