My hydro booster is leaking on my '95. I ordered a rebuild kit for it, and received it today. Anyone ever rebuilt one of these? Any help appreciated. Dan

What brand kit did you buy? What exactly is in the kit? Price?

I need to rebuild one of mine. Just needs O-rings.

I'd like to see what you've got if you can post some pictures.

I hope this works...One kit is a complete kit including metal parts, one is rubber parts only. These are the only rebuild kits I could find. MBM is a Hot-Rod/classic car power brake supply house. Hope this helps Dan

That's what I could have used two years ago. The seals went out. it was ~$300 to replace it. Did you see the price on this kit?

Mine was very reasonable around $30.00 US shipped. #501 kit with all parts. Mine is leaking from the body gasket, as well as next to the master cylinder. I will update after I install this weekend.

I put sealer in mine and it seems to have stopped leaking.

Let us know how the rebuild goes. I doubt the sealer will last forever.

Did you ever rebuild it? If so, how did it turn out and how long did it take?

Yes I did, however most of the parts were not needed as this kit is for an older model. I used the "figure-8" gasket, and 2 or 3 of the seals for the inner piston and the star holder clip. Other than that the newer ones are much more simple than the older ones. You can buy a rubber only kit from the same guys, much cheaper. Mine is working good... no leaks been about a month now. It was leaking power steering fluid all over the frame. The hardest part was removing the darn thing.. under the dash is nasty.. Dan

The place at the links above says dealers only.

Did you order direct from them? Is the first link have enough parts included?

Yes it looks like the 51 Kit has exactly what I used... I Had no problem ordering direct from them. Dan

Did you order online or have to call?

SD, Did you ever rebuild your hydra-boost with this kit? How did it go, Looks like too few parts to be complicated. I'm going to order it tomorrow

I ordered a kit50 last night, hopefully it will have all the parts I need as they did not return calls or e-mails. I'm confused with some of the info in this thread because the kit501 which has all the parts is more like $70 not $30. They have 4 different kits for rebuilding the hydro boost with varying levels of parts but no information to help you decide which one you might need. SD mentioned he used the clip which is not in any of the kits except the 501, hopefully I can get the old one out without damaging it.

MDT, I did order the 501 Kit, however it comes with many parts that you probably will not need. From what I can tell these kits are for older model trucks.. and the hydro-booster's were considerably more complicated than the one on my '95... Having said that the rubber "figure 8" gasket and other gaskets are included and mine works good and no leaks and has 15,000-20,000km on it.
The hardest part of the job is removing and putting it back in. I could not find rebuilt one up here for less than $300.00 and one at the auto wrecker runs about $190.00

I paid about $30-$35 U.S. dollars for the 501 kit, but got dealer pricing through my company. I am also located in Canada (west coast) and that sometimes helps as they have no authorized dealers up here....with diesel at .85 per litre (about $3.40 per us gallon) we need a break up here sometimes.. After all B.C. means "Bring Cash"
