Talked to the powers that be & the Flint Truck Plant (CREW CABS) has updated their startup date from 2/26 to 2/19. That is great news for you guys waiting for the new trucks. Also was told that they won't hold back shipping as long as they did at Pontic East (Regular & Extended Cabs) They started building them on 1/3, BUT didn't get the OK to start shipping till 1/23!! They figure that Flint will start shipping on 2/26? YEA! Howard:D :D :D

Have the 2500hd SLT on order.Dealer advised me the 17 inch wheels are holding up orders on all the SLT models as the demand is way ahead of production.Seems that all the other trucks with the 16 inch standard are ordering them as an option.My truck should be scheduled for production soon but was told not to expect delivery till around end of April.Sorry to see my 03 Duramax go but tired of fooling with the injector issues and failure to start problems.

For those of you who dont know Howard_M18, he is a great guy with the inside track on the GM production line. He helped me get my build date moved up 6 weeks earlier than my dealer could. Thank you Howard!!! :) :)

Thanks, this now lets me have more confidence in the 'week of Feb 19th' build date I was given by my dealer last week, for the CrewCab LTZ LMM that I ordered early Jan. It seemed a little off with the Feb 26th startup, now makes sense, and I expected to be pretty early as the order went in within a day or two of the dealers being allowed to order.

Howard, I emailed the order # to you a couple of days ago. Dealer says March 26th estimated delivery date, would love to have more details as I have a race the weekend of March 30th (and would need to leave on 28th or so) and would need to make alternate hauling arrangements if I don't have reasonable confidence the truck will be here. Would love it to be available 2 weeks earlier to make it for a March 16th race, but that would probably be hoping for too much...

One Q - on the Chevy Silverado web site (http://www.chevrolet.com/silverado/), it says the trailer brake controller is 'Available Spring 2007'. I ordered it as an option on my LTZ, it doesn't seem to have affected my build date, has anyone heard of any issues/holdups on it, or what exactly that phrase means, since none of the other options seem to have such qualifications? I can't seem to select or see it on the Chevy 'build' link, so maybe it didn't actually get ordered? It won't kill me if I need to add an Tekonsha Prodigy.
