I don't think it would help much taking out the suspended <10 micron stuff. Again IMHO.. Tim baimpala 08-29-2004, 08:13 PM Ideally maybe, but the Nicktane filter is also set up this way (Pre-OEM). This is a quality setup, and the big CAT filters aren't expensive at all, under 20 bucks. After I install the Nicktane kit next weekend, I'll change the factory filter a thousand miles later and then not touch it for a while (probably 15 or 20 thousand), but I'll change the CAT out every 5-8k.
