Congrats to TD and QM both!!! I know your input has been very valuable to me during the small amount of time I've been a member of the diesel place. Thanks for all your hard work...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

Ditto on all the positive sentiments.

Question for Qm that's been on my mind for a long time:

What's the origin/meaning of your "handle" ?

Quantum mechanic is a play on words. I'm sure you've heard of quantum mechanics? The interplay of energy at the sub atomic particle level. I guess a quantum mechanic is one who's interplay is at that energy level. The world of dreams and mental flashes.

Ha....that's what I was guessing. It also crossed my mind that I once had a VW Quantum turbo diesel that I worked on a lot. You coulda had one too.

Well, then the electronic version of the 6.5 is right up your alley.

Are you familiar with the Heisenberg uncertainty principle?

Refresh my memory. Are we talking radom fluctuation of the vacuum or quantum tunneling.

Well, it's a deep and weird subject.

Werner Heisenberg postulated a theory about quantum physics that had something to do with the spin and direction of small particles and more importantly the science of predicting a given particle's end position. It gets very deep and weird at times because ....apparently part of his theory is that the mere attempt at observing an action influences the end result. Thus the uncertainty. It;s very weird but at the same time fascinating since I've read many articles who's authors try to apply these theories to more mundane everyday events. Another guy at work and I have made jokes about the boss. When he's "observing" us we act different......thus changing the result merely by observing.

I did a cursory google search for interesting information and didn't find anything worth linking to. The stuff I quickly came up with was dry and loaded with math equations. You'll just have to trust me that it can be interesting such as in the case of Schrodinger's cat in the closet that simultaneuosly is alive and dead based on the heisenberg uncertainty principle. I know it's weird and I have no defense for bringing it up.

Never mind........

Bob250,

It really gets to the heart of conscious perception and physical reality. The sliding scale of "what is".

It "appears" that how consciousness sees itself affects physical reality. If you see yourself as happy, heathy and connected to all aspects of life, you will reflect that. Where as, if you see yourself goddless and alone, you will be.Edited by: quantum mechanic
