My '01 has 51,168....had the injectors replaced at 49,154. I think it's already starting to act up again. The past 300 miles, or so, I have seen black smoke when you accelerate.....I know that might not be a bad sign.....but....I have NEVER seen this truck smoke....black, or white, except for when the two injectors went south. All in all, I still wouldn't have any other truck....I LOVE MY DURAMAX.....Craig http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I have to add...I had a '84 6.2....no powerhouse mine you...but I put 380,000 on it and never turned a bolt on the motor....kept it for 7 years and sold it for $2000 more than I paid for it....the guy that bought it practically begged me to let him have it. Last I heard he had replaced/overhauled the engine and was still driving it....Edited by: parker2510

8 injectors and 1 injector pump replaced, steering shaft has been lubed and still rattles, and the tailgates straps broke last weekend under the weight of the air above it.......

90,000 Something. Have not looked in a while. Took delivery May 2001. Took back two times 1) Cross threaded injector pump 2)One reflash for tranny around 5K or so. It has not been back to a dealer since. Runs perfect. Averaging 16.2 mpg daily driving, Burns no oil, Interior flawless. What's totally amazing is it still has original brake pads on all 4 corners and they are still at 50%http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif. I towed alot of weight in the first 60K miles.

With all the early hype about aluminum heads and now negativity about injectors, I am quite impressed with this truck. Even if the injectors happen to fail I will have them fixed and drive it some more. The truck still looks like it just drove off the transport and with the price of new vehicles nowadays, having something fixed is a much better deal then losing your butt on a new one.

I've had mine since Oct. of '02. 49,000+ miles with no major problems.
Two replacement clutch pedal assemblies(for squeaking-hasn't fixed it),
tailgate latches have been problematic, parking brake doesn't work right
(real problem with manual trans), hard clutch pedal, on third set of tailgate cables- waiting for stainless to come in, a couple of temporary electrical gremlins, that's about it. Can't really complain after the problems with my last truck(Ford). Yearly average fuel milage for the first two years was 21.2 mpg whitch included a fair amount of snow plowing.

2001 with 170,000 miles!!! Most of them towing. 150,000 miles with the Edge. About 20,000 with the Predator stacked on top. Several trips to the dragstrip!!! Injectors was my only problem. Slipped the Allison alot and it just kept on going. Never even changed the brakes!!! Just sold it this week. Cried when it left. First new vehicle I ever bought, probably the best one I will ever own!!!

2004.5 LLY 65,000 miles. Been in shop more than its been in the driveway. 2nd LLY seams better already.

2003 seams halfway in between.

Had a 2001 GMC with 160,000 miles. Also a great truck. I believe they have gone downhill a little with the newer ones. We pulled the 01 and the 04 loaded the same, on the same trip. The 04 would outpull the 01 untill they downshifted. The 01 would then pass the 04 going up the hill. The 04 also gets about 25% worse fuel mileage and overheats!!Edited by: RickDLance

bought my '03 in April of '03. I have 121,000 km/73,000 miles on it. It's been in the shop numerous times, all for minor crap..loose fittings, goofy brake codes, transmission cooler lines, etc. All in all I'm happy with it..I think I now have the kinks worked out of it. Funny thing is, the last time I took it in for the tranny lines, the service rep asked how I was gonna pay for it (had 111,000 km on it) and I said I wasn't going to pay, GM was, as it's still under warranty. He tells me the warranty ran out at 100,000 km and I argued that my manual said I had bumper to bumper warraanty up to 160,000 km/100,00 miles. He said no way, not true, all these d-maxes warranty runs out at 100,000. I told him to prove it to me so he ran my VIN code, and pulled up my warranty page. Turns out I have 2 full years, unlimited bumper to bumper warranty on it :) hehe. He said he's never seen one like that before, but he failed to apologize for arguing. I guess he's never seen a c5500 go through the shop before..

A friend of mine has an '01 with 237k. All stock except normal wear items, hypertech, K&N drop-in, homemade 4" exhaust, and new batteries(replaced at 23k due to leaking). I keep telling him about this site, but he hasn't checked it out yet.
