Hey guys, I bought a wheel well tool box. To install it, I need to remove one of the bed cargo anchor points. Will a dremel do the job or do I need something heavier?

Are you talking about one that sits on the side, below the bed, over the wheel well? If so, could you take some pics? I am interested in getting one of these.

It fits either in front of or behind the wheel well. I didn't need alot of storage, but was tired of having everthing under the back seat. I ordered it from Sears.

A dremel with the little disks will do it although it may take a bit(the little stone disks suck IMO get some of the fiberglass looking ones)

If you have a compressor an air cut-off will do it really quick(looks like a dremmel on roids). you can ussualy get a cheap set of tools with a die grinder, air cut-off and some other tools for reasonable. the camblehousefeld is pretty inexpensive and works ok if your not going to use it a bunch.

I dont have the paitence to use a dremell on anything other than plastichttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

EDit: Forgot to mention, 4 1/2" grinder with some thin cut off disks and a few zirconia flap disks, a knotted wire wheel and a couple abrasive disks really kicks but and you can do grinding and lots of other stuff too. lowes should sell all of that or www.ai-supply.com (http://www.ai-supply.com/) sells good stuff, a good milwakee will run you bout 100$. can be a great versital tool but a bit more spendy. BTW and JMO.....dont buy anything you really want to last(especially electrial stuff) from harbor freight.Edited by: ratlover

Use the reinforced cut-off wheels (a little more expensive, but will last a lot longer). As a cheap alternative, go get yourself a 4" cut-off wheel and an arbor. Well under 5$ if you go to the right place, and probably the best 5$ you'll ever spend outside the phillipines (Did I just say that?). I bought one a while back, chucked it in my drill and couldn't believe how I ever lived without it.

I put that same box behind the wheel well as I use the front anchors for my bike. It fit back there without modification and looks good.

I'd just use a 'gas axe' and be done w/ it http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

How about using a hole saw and cutting a hole in box and let it stick thru.

Ptu some weather strip between the box and bed.

Make a little clamp to go thru the loop and anchor the box w/ it.
