I have an 02 Chevy 2500HD Duramax that has a very odd problem. When it is parked sometimes, the brake lights come on for no reason. The problem has something to do with the brake controller because if I push on it so it tilts downward in the bracket, the tail lights come off. It has sat for days without a problem, but all of a sudden they will come on. If I am not around ot correct the problem by adjusting the controller, it will totally drain the battery. What is going on? Problem with the connection or controller?

It's a problem with the controller. Usually the manual overide lever malfunctions and turns the lights on.
