I recently bought a 02... Didnt realize the mirror didnt have the temp and compass...

So I went to the local yard, got a review mirror...

Found my plug in the overhead, pluged up the mirror... Powered up...

I get the compass to work... But the temp doesnt work...

What is the deal?

You also need an outside air temperature sensor. The harness for it should be in place, if the mirror harness was there. Location is behind the grille, in front of the radiator, about the middle of the right-hand (as you look from the front of the truck) angle bracket. Another trip to the wreckers....

did you find it? I have the overhead harness and am looking for the other sensor plug. The sensor is $20.

Yep, that should do it, if the wire is in there.

I had the overhead harness - but can't find the wire anywhere for the sensor. My compass works fine - but no temp yet. I think I'm going to have to add the wire.

I've been watching these threads because we just added the mirror to my dad's 01. It seems like everybody either has the wiring in the cab or the wiring under the hood. You will probably have to run the other half.
