Ok Guys, I have been looking for a 5th wheel hitch that drops into the hide-a-ball hitch. I have heard that they make such a thing I just don't know anyone who has one. If you have one please let me know how you like it and where you found it. I have a gooseneck 20ft work trailer and some friends of mine have a 5th wheel camper that I can use but I don't have a hitch. Instead of blowing money on a 5th wheel hitch I was wanting to research the idea of the hide-a-ball attachment. Thanks for all the input.

Well we already answered this question you posted in the accessories forum.

I see you're new, so I'll mention that double posts in different forums should not be done. If you post in an area you later decide is wrong, ask one of the Mods to move it, or sometimes they'll see it and move it. Usually they'll lock one of the duplicate threads.

I guessing you already HAVE the hide-a-ball. I don't think there is a drop in 5th wheel hitch for that brand.

My father in law has the B&W Turnover ball goosneck hitch and the B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch that uses the same verticle reciever that the goosneck ball does. That's an absolutely excelent set up. Not the cheapest way to go.

It beats the heck out of my Reese 16K 5th wheel hitch and Reese Gooseneck adapter that uses the same rails. His gooseneck hitch is stronger, quieter, easier to remove and leaves a clear floor. My 5th wheel hitch is marginally easier to put into the truck and take out, but it's clanky (is that a word?) and feels super cheap by comparison . . . the total $ for his B&W setup was about $100 more than mine.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ouch.gif

I won't make the same mistake again.

Will the B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch hookup to any hide-a-ball or does it have to be the B&W hide-a-ball hitch? My friend said he would go in 1/2er's with me if it will work with his. I'm not sure what brand he has.
