i have a buddy with a 04 duramax and he wants it to run what is the best bang for the buck if possible under 350 ?? thanks guys

I think you can get a Predator or a Hypertech for that price, Maybe.


Tell your buddy to think about what he wants for power and then re-ask him, do you want that tranny to last or not.


If you want the transmission to last your friend will then need either an ADD ON Box with tranny slip detection like a EDGE/JUICE or Van Aiken Smart "E" box or a tuner that does not push the tranny over 80-90 HP over stock. Like the Predator, Hypertech, Bullydog/Quad tuners.


Go over that 90hp/675TQ and hammer the truck a lot and add in some hole shots and some power braking and figure on spending $3500 plus for a new tranny.

Your friend should really buy a pyro at min(boost is nice too but not as necisary as a pyro) too. When you add gauges to the mix a juice attitude combo while more expensice offers good bang for the buck. Juice runs pretty cool too(I towed for the first time this weekend and was pretty supprsed how cool it ran). Also has egt(if you get the attitude) and trany slip back down(on all modles). Banks offers the same IIRC. Just because you have a box that backs down when it senses trany slip dosnt mean you cant still hurt the trans! It really helps though......


Sometimes the cheapest dosnt mean the best. Doing something with the exhaust is probably a pretty good idea too.


Like was said.....keep the program to under 90 added hp(at the max) if its an lb7. Aslo is he towing or drag racing or what???

You can find a used Edge Juice for $350 or less, watch ebay. That would be my first recommendation.
