Depends on what you want to do with it. For all around driving with very little pure mud driving, I like the Michelin LTX M+S. They ride great, wear good and I have had good luck with them in snow and rain. They are a little expensive, but will out wear any tire out there in that size.

Ever here the phrase "Opinions are like assholes"?

I have Firestone Transforce AT's and love them, suck in the messy stuff but wear great, tough as nails. So much depends on what you intend to use them for.

I like my Big-O's (Proven tires, same tires are used daily by the Border Patrol, and they put them to their paces)

I like to look at tirerack.com for feedback. They have a good system which provides some fair ratings for comparison. Take the results with a grain of salt, but it helps me narrow my search. I went with the Bridgestone AT Revo. Been good to me so far. I would have gone with the BFG AT, but at the time it wasn't available in load range "E" - screwed again - thanks BFG.

Pro Comp All Terrains are a good tire too. Would prefer BFG A/T's, but on national backorder in my size right now (265-70-17). Just put on a set of Pro Comps. They are great in the snow, comparable to a BFG A/T. Last set on my Dodge (Pro Comps) went almost 50K mi, driving windy mtn hiways primarily. Could've probably gotten a little more out of them but I missed a couple rotations and ended up w/ 2 bald tires and 2 w/1/4 tread, cupped out.

Yes they have an awesome rating system comparing tires and consumers comments over 100's of thousands of miles.

I was going to get the Michieln LTX M/S until I saw a friend get stuck in a muddy yard with them. I had the revos once and the shop could not get them to balance and bought them back. I have a set of Toyo Open Country M/T on order. They will be here Monday. I'll let you know.

I'm happy with my BFG AT KOs. Great tire in the snow and well mannered on the street.

I'm very happy with the Bridgestone Revo 265's. Aggressive enough tread and very quiet on the road. Had 285's before and went down in size and very happy I did.

I like the Nitto Terra Grapplers. But make sure no matter what, to buy Load range E tires! Load range d will wear out real fast, especially if you tow anything heavy. I love the grapplers, good traction in snow. Plus they leave 2 real nice solid black lines when it comes time for burnouts!

The round, black ones are way better than the square ones. Just my opinion.

I have been extremely happy with the General Grabbers. The tread pattern is similar to the BFGs only about 40-50 bucks cheaper per tire.

Got the REVO's also E rated ofcourse. Like the look better than OEM, I do think they feel a little bit more squishy compared to the OEM 773 (245/75/16) Duelers stock tires. But On he other hand they do provide more traction, and seem to pull the trailer fine giving a comparable ride. Like they its all about what your doing.

I like the Revo's so far - I'll never buy another set of Firestones ( I had the origional set that came on the truck & replaced them with the Transforce AT 165 E - they both suck in wet conditions) I'm sure the Michelins are good as well but I just had to try the Revos. Wet traction is super & they have done ok in mud as well. Cool looking tread anyway - good luck in your choice.
