I have a new Escort 8500 in the box but am having second thoughts on this purchase. Seems all the staters are using instant on radar now. Will these detectors give you any early warning if you aren't first in line?

They say you cant beat Laser but I know that I have beat it. I was doing 85+ in a 70mph trying to catch up with a group we were caravanning with. (Wide open area going across S. Dakota). If you have an Escort you know the attention getting noise it makes when Laser is detected. I hit the breaks when it went off and cruised right by the LEO. Got a dirty look from him but that was it.
