I have been running my 06 with a K&N air intake now for a few months and I have not noticed any appreciable difference over stock. On my 02 Duramax, after installing a K&N, I immediately noticed the power increase and performance improvement. I can not say the same after having added the K&N to the 06. Is it because the 06 stock air intake is so much improved that I am not actually getting anything for having made the change? Any and all ideas and comments are welcome. I was just wondering if it was money wasted. tks, Neil G.
The K&N is an oil filter and i dont use them.My stock 07 is as good as any out there in my opinion.

The LBZ intake is very well designed, I'd be surprised if you will see a significant performance by even pulling off the whole intake.
I did testing on the dyno with the LLY, stock vs. AirRaid (K&N gauze style filter assy), and the difference was +3hp, and only at 2500-3000 rpm.

Moved to air upgrades section..
I thought about changing mine out as well until I did some reading and found out the same thing, there is very little gain if any.

No gain, unless you count the accumulation of dirt in your engine as gain. The K&N will give no performance improvement and will let in a lot of dirt while doing it. Trust me, this topic has been hammered to death. SPICER
