Just curious if there was a way to make the fog lights stay on when you change to your high beams. Drives me nuts when they turn off! Or maybe there is a really good reason why GM makes it like this? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif

I never drove in fog in Colorado, but on the east coast, midwest and in Kalifornia if I put the highs on in fog I couldn't see a thing except blinding white everywhere. Lows and fog lights seem about right to me.

I know what your saying. But I would like to have them on with my highs instead because the high beams are pretty tapered and don't shine as bright to the sides of the road as I would light. My fogs shine really broad. There are a lot of animals wondering the roads around here so I want to be able to see the best I can. They would be more like deer lights than fog lights!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Crayz,

There are a number of ways to do what you are asking. The link Kartattack posted contains some really excellent information by Max Power and GMC2500HD. Both them boys are perty smart. If you just want the fog lights to come on automatically with the high beams, just go buy a IN4001 rectifier diode at your local electronic supply store (probably Radio Shack is the easiest). Once you have the diode, you can either solder it to the 85 pin on the high beam and fog lamp relays (with the cathode or band towards the high beam relay) and you are set. If you don't want something quite as permanent, you can bend the ends of the diode down and push the relay in with the diode. It works great.

If you have other questions or aren't sure how to do it, just ask,
Dennis

Thanks guys! I checked out that link and there is a ton of good info there. I actually just got back from Radio Shack with the diodes to keep the fogs and lows on with the highs. Should be an ok solution until I can afford the KD harness. Thanks again.

Why would you need the harness now, doesn't this solve the problem? I just did it tonight, and it works like a champ!

This is an "oakie" fix. It works great but is not quite as smooth and professional as the KD harness.

My Kennedy's harness looks like it came from the factory.
