I could have sworn that fuel filters were not that expensive last time I changed mine (about a year ago. Had GM change mine last summer for free). I went to get one at O'Reily and they were $40+. I could have sworn I paid $25 last time. I know someone had a post about a year ago that said where the best price for one is. Anyone know a website where they are cheaper?

Fleet filter is a sponsor vendor and offers good prices:
http://www.fleetfilter.com/
Remember that the fuel filter has gone through two revisions and the latest "third generation" filter has dual layer filter media in a larger can and therefore is more expensive.

Is it still the same story...Racor makes all the filters no matter what it says on the box?

Unless Racor is making filters in China for Baldwin and plating them with a yellow zinc dichromate finish, I have to disagree.

The best deal I found is B-line filter. I bought a case of PFF5544 for my 05 @ $12.50 each. For some reason I couldnt get them on-line. I called there 800 number and highly recommend them. I plan on buying all mine through them.
