I was in the country driving roughly 60 mph with new PPE boost valve. Wanted to see how much boost i could get so i put it to the floor. A few seconds later it tached out, jolting violently and going back into 4th gear at 80 mph. Check engine light came on immediatly afterwards. Pulled over, waited 10 minutes. Drove again, tranny switched through gears fine afterwards with engine light still on. Plugged in predator, pulled up error code p0700 "tranny control module" failed two tests. Cleared codes nothing happend. Roughly three hours later the check engine light dissapeared. Does anyone know what in the world happend?

btw, (fuel filter was recently changed for an irrevelent reason i figured id say it)

Limped means that you put to much torque to it in 5th gear and tranny couldn't handle it so to keep it from more damage it goes into limp mode. I am dealing with the same problem now and LIMP is apparently not a good thing, sounds as if damage is done when this happens so repairs are inevitable

Just roll to 70 and make sure O/D is locked out... wait, you have an '02...
Never mind...

I had what may have been the beginnings of a limp twice (jolt, RPM jump) but I got no light, no code, and no messages.

Just give her hell and do what you can when you can. You won't live forever. Be easy on the 4-5, 5-4, and 5th roll-on.

On the bright side:) ...now you have a reason to get the tranny upgraded. Once that is done, you can load that 120 tune:D

Call suncoast and ATS and they can let you know. If you need someone else to do it get the #'s (from suncoast and ATS) for the closest shop to you that installs them and they can get you better quote. All depends on what you want to do I guess. PM Mike L, he sounds like he knows a bit about transmissions. He advised me if you limp it you have most likely done some damage (C3 maybe C2 and C5) and would want to fix that as well as upgrade. I am still researching but hoping the dealer will tear it down and inspect and fix if need be and save me some $ for the upgrade.

MikeL advises that most likely the C3 clutch is damaged (possibly C2 & C4 as well) when you limp it. I took mine to dealor today (that installed Edge), they ofcourse checked the codes and drained the fluid. They said no color change in fluid....Blah.....Blah and so on so they think it was the Edge causing the code (no crap, can you say to much torque in 5th gear) so want to send it back to get it checked out. I advised them of all the info I had gathered (on this forum from all the knowledgeable people) and exactly what the issue was but they just don't understand I guess. They unplugged it and I didn't get to talk with them since I picked it up after they closed. I guess I will send Edge back next month to get the new updates. What I thought we had agreed upon was a tear down and inspection of the clutches and replacement if damaged but I guess they misunderstood. I guess I will just have to pay for the upgrades when I can afford it but was hoping that I wouldn't have to pay for the clutch replacement (if need be). They advised me they would warranty evrything but if they don't understand I guess it's hard.

Wait a minute... your dealer is going to warranty you trashing you tranny with an "aftermarket power-up device"??

Will they buy replacement parts from Suncoast, too?

That was the deal when I purchased it, they sell them a lot on the new vehicles as well as CAI, Exhausts, and lifts. I am going to call tomorrow and discuss it more. You can't figure out if you have burnt clutches wothout taking the damn thing apart, code reader don't count either, I don't know if they really understand. This is the 1st time they have heard of it..........apparently.
