I look into the owners manual and it says dexron VI. I looked a couple of places and haven't seen it. Is it hard to find or just looking the wrong places.

are you just looking for some so you can replace what was lost during a filter change? what i do is buy a quart of amsoil synthetic ATF and fill the filter with that before i screw it on.

don't know about Dex6, maybe one of those things you can only find at the dealer.

Will that hurt mixing it up like that? Also does alot of fluid come out when you change it?

Dexron 6 was just released by GM a couple of months ago. If you want specifics do a search, I'm sure there is more info here. It is basically better fluid.

For the small amount you need to fill the filter, Dex III mixes fine. I believe somebody said the other day that Autozone is now carrying Dex VI.

Only place I have found DEX VI so far is at the dealer...:eek:

I used dex 6 on my first few spin on filter changes then switched to transynd. Now that transynd has jumped in price I am running amsoil. Why wait, switch to a better fluid like transynd or amsoil now. You allison will thank you later. Plus the synthetics are not that much more money than what the stealer charges for dex 6.

Well where is everybody getting there amsoil at?

I just got my shipment of AMSOIL in the yard today. I have a case of atf qt's,I wanted to get more to do a trany oil and filter change. (02, lb7) Somehow I ordered torque drive. I dont want to mix them, I have enough to do the whole change with torque drive. Can I do the next change with ATF? Can I even use the torque drive? Thanks in advance. Rod:o:

Torque drive is what is best for the Allison.

GM dealer has it but usually only in gallon containers. Can add a little dex III if necessary. Mobil has a Dex VI product available too.
