Hi guys glad to be here!
I am considering buying a 97 F450 wrecker from a guy that has not driven th etruck on the road for a few months. It has 320K miles on the odom.
Now the problem is that it is a very rough engine to start. Once it does start it runs really rough for a while until warmed up and then contiuosly smokes at idle. When under load it stutters then goes at a gradual pace. I am just wondering if it could be bad injectors or glow plugs? Any ideas what this could be? I am thinking that the truck wasn't very well taken care of. I have 2 superdutys and the wrecker I have has 265k on and it well maintained and runs like it is still new!
Does anyone think this truck would be worth the trouble? It is a very soild truck, no rust other then the usuall rocks chips that hit the tow bed etc... its also an automatic if this helps any!
Thanks,
