Can someone please explain what Suncoast is and why it is so cool I know it is a tranny upgrade but by looking at the prices it cost as much as a new tranny. I know its a dumb question for some but I had to ask becouse I am running out of things to do to my truck or as I call it the money pit.

It is a transmission upgrade that changes some valving and adds clutches to some of the weaker ones and adds a triple lock torque convertor which is superior to the single disc factory one. The tc also has a billit cover that is much stronger by design. These and some other changes enable you run power adders that add more than 125 rwhp without the fear of slipping the tranny and causing it to go into limp mode. I have more than 14k miles on my suncoast and run daily with 425 plus rwhp with absolutely no slip or limp....my truck has run a 8.39 in the 1/8 mile at 82 mph with a curb weight of 7250lbs including driver. You have never felt the full power of hot juice with a stock tranny, it defuels lots in fifth to keep the tranny from going limp. Hope this helps. Kennedy is a dealer for them his site and theirs is in my sig.........daveEdited by: sdaver

Does the Edge (non-attitude) defuel based on trans slip information coming from the TCM, or does it just defuel all transmissions the same? By just changing to the Suncoast, did the Edge detect that the Allison was no longer slipping and not defuel?

I noticed you also have the Quad. Do you know if their non-comp tunes do the same thing?

defuels based on slip........no slip no defuel.....it will defuel when shifting but that can be removed with the attitude.......mine is set for no defuel......I really dont know about the other quad tunes I run the 215 with the edge 145 and have run the 135 with the edge 145 stacked noticed no defueling..dave
