What is an acceptable amount of oil to use between changes? Seems I am using almost a full quart every 4000 miles. Can't find any leaks, don't see any smoke. Any ideas?

That's well below the GM limits. I wouldn't worry much about that usage rate. One of the techs will probably chime in but I don't think GM will do anything unless you use a quart in like 500 miles.

I think that mine uses almost two quarts between changes. It seems to be getting better with age but it does concern me a little.

I had a mechanic tell me one time that if an engine used one drop every time a cylinder fired it would use a quart of oil in a mile or two. I have never run the math but a quart in 4,000 miles ain’t much!
