: 6.5 decals
chevy9465 08-20-2004, 11:03 PM any body know if the 6.5 has any logos or emblems kinda like the big C for cummins. im tryin to find some kinda decals to put on my truck so people will know its a diesel when it aint runnin, cause its kinda hard to tell a chevy diesel since chevy put just as many 454's in their 2500 & 3500 trucks than 6.5's
quantum mechanic 08-20-2004, 11:20 PM I have the hood badge reads "6.5 turbodiesel" on both sides. If gm doesn't list a part number for them, any printing shop that has those new laser cut stickers could do the same. If I ever get twins, I'll get 396TT decals made for the hood scoop.
chevy9465 08-21-2004, 12:08 AM yea mine got that on the hood to but if i could fnd some of them i thought bout puttin some right above the 2500 on the door

CanadianRigger 08-21-2004, 11:26 AM Got a printer? You can buy clear stick-on labels to run through your printer at most Office supply places (Staples here). Print em out and cut off the excess with a good knife. Or go to you local pin stripe shop and pay through the nose. Your choice. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

lupey6.5 08-21-2004, 12:40 PM i've got a factory hood sticker right below the "blazer" on my tailgate, looks like it belongs there. i've also thought they would work on the sides above the 1500.

I made it in about 5 min's with my software program. Can make just about anything along that line and email it to whoever wants it in a larger file size so it prints nice. Can even put a pic of your truck in the sticker too...lol
Only able to make em about 10.5" long for one sheet of paper but can split stuff up to make it larger and on more sheets, just have to match up the edges when its put on.
Or maybe i could make em here and sell them to ya... lol
chevy9465 08-21-2004, 11:57 PM do u know what that paper is called that u print them on?
CanadianRigger 08-22-2004, 12:39 AM Not sure on the name but its a clear full sheet stick on label.
Here's another

CanadianRigger 08-22-2004, 12:46 AM Picture publisher, can't get it anymore.
lupey6.5 08-22-2004, 01:18 AM you get the hood stickers from the stealership

Texas Diesel Guy 08-22-2004, 10:16 AM Here's my OEM decals, one on each door and one on the tailgate. I think it advertises my powerplant pretty well, but I do plan to add a TURBO decal soon. As for the price, they're cheap, I dont remember exactly it was over a year ago, but something like $10-15 each.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/uploads/885_truck_002.jpg

ChevyDave 08-23-2004, 08:29 PM Make sure that if you print your own that you use a laser printer or the color will run when water is applied. Or you could take the text to a sign shop and I can't imagine them charging more than $15-20 dollars for a couple to be cut out for your own installation.
Here a few I made in a few minutes using photoshop. This is just an example of a few fonts and changes that can be made.

Just about anything can be done if you have the time and a little practice. I think it would make a very unique rig to have custom emblems.
steiner43511 08-23-2004, 09:50 PM what years did the "6.5 diesel turbo" come on the hood?
lupey6.5 08-23-2004, 10:41 PM mines a '94 and it has 'em.
