In the 'Personal' section of the DIC there is Average MPG and MPG.
When I fill up I usually rest the 'Personal' milage back to zero.
Why do the Average MPG and MPG differ?
Since the lift Average MPG is around 22 and MPG is around 12-13.

Mine only has one in the personal range, Average MPG. Same with the business range. Using the bottom button which displays oil life, etc. I have average MPG and instant MPG. The average MPG there is since the truck was new. It's resettable but I'm not sure how and I like to leave it alone to.

resetting that "other" one isas simple as pushing the enter button like you do for the personal/business sections.
I reset both the "other" average MPG and the Personal section on each fillup. I reset the business section on oilchange. I reset the annual mileage per fuel filter change.
Just my $0.02.

... I reset the annual mileage per fuel filter change....
Great Idea!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif I also use the Buisness trip odometer for oil changes but I didn't think of using the Annual odometter for fuel filter changes... Thanks for the tip! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

Nas had it right. There is a personal, a business, and an average. If you want to average your fuel economy over a period of time that is what the avg is for. If you want do do tank to tank that is what personal & business are for.

I think it's average MPH (mile per hour), not MPG.
