What years were or are the exhausts the same. Reason: Summit racing lists their 5" turbo back system as an '01-'04. I have an '07 Classic LBZ, are the systems the same? The wonderful "Tech advisor" at Summit told me that "he was not sure" if it would fit (WHAT)?? You don't know, and he never even offered to try to find out.
MBRP lists theirs as '01-'06. So does that include the LBZ?
Have searched the posts but nothing that gives me the info I need. I am done with the idiots on the phone so I am going to let it sit here to get "real world" advice. About sick of the parts book jockeys. What happened to the days where the parts guys/gals actually knew what they were taking about.

PS. Want to have some fun? Walk into a parts store and tell them you need an EGR for your diesel. The look you get will be priceless. Ranks right up there with "Blinker fluid and muffler bearings"

As long as it is turbo back, any kit made for a 01 will fit on a 07. If it is Cat back, 01-05 are the same and 06-07 are different. 01-05 have a four bolt flange and the 06-07 trucks have a slip flange. I hope that helps.

One caution, if you EVER want to reinstall the cat an off road system not made for that trucks cat design it will nop allow you to do that. Most of our customers use the cat back system with a seperate front pipe and that way you can reinsert the cat to keep the GOV or dealers happy. Costs a little more but you have options that an off road system will not allow. By the way we have the AFE systems at prices that rival Summitt and they are better quality etc, check them out if you want.

I know what you are saying and to be honest I am not 100% sure what way I want to go. Ran my PSD with the OE pipe with cat and muffler cut out($100) and never had an issue, also had mod friendly dealer. I like the idea of being able to reistall the cat if need be but if I get caught with out it the ability to put it back on in a day will be the least of my worries...ie fines and tickets. Well it will be a short while before I decide, so will scratch my chin until then. Thanks for the info.

Oh yeah checked your site does AFE make a 5" system? That is what size I will be doing for sure.

No they only have 4 inch systems at this time. Keep in mind that the main cause for concern about being able to bolt the cat back in is the dealer and warranty, the odds of being on the highway and being caught by the GOV is pretty low, at least currently, who knows what tomorrow will bring!!

Thanks for the help. As far as the DOT cops I am not worried about them, here in Atlanta the only thing they care about are big rigs cutting through the city and carpool lane violators.

Thats a Expandit sytem, they are OK, 100% clamp on hangers that some folks dislike though. If you go that way do NOT do the reducers deal as it defeats the purpose of increasing pipe size to 5 inches if you shrink it back to the stock cats 3.5 inches. You're MUCH better off with a 4 inch after the stock 3.5 inch cat pipe or getting a system like we mentioned that has the cpapbility to bolt in or out the stock cat at anytime.
