I am having some issues witht he boost reading on my SPA gage. If I zero my gage at idle (0 psi) and then drive for a while then come back to an idle, my boost reading will then be -2.7psi. Go for another drive and come back to an idle and the gauge will read + 2.5 or so. GO for another drive and back close to 0. So therefore all my boost numbers are off (Attitude monitor is mounted right beside it so I can compare the 2.) I have my boost sensor "T" into the wastegate line. I ran a wire to a grounding block and band clamped the other end around the sensor to ground it. My Ohm gauge says it is ground.

Talked to SPA last week and sent the gage and everything too them. They said I had a bad harness and was out of warranty. So dropped $75 in a new harness, reinstalled it and no better. Tried emailing them 2 times and have not got a response back.

Anyone else with simililar problems or a fix?

Thanks,

Greg

It probably needs it's own ground wire- I used a small hose clamp to clamp the wite around the body of the sender, and just ran it to one of the braided ground straps nearby. No probs since then.

That's pretty much what I did. band clamped a wire to the sensor at the wastegate connection and the ran the wire to the red plastic ground box between the engine and the driverside wheel well. Maybe I'll try another location for grounding it.

I've got problems sometimes of the boost reading extra high. Like 50-60-70 psi.

Mines grounded well also and I've changed the head twice already cuz of a bad light, and changed EGT wiring cuz of bad sending unit. Not to happy with SPA

Greg, i hope you didnt tap to the power part of the red box.. inside of that little cover is 12 volts, the bracket acts as a ground tab. Another thing to check is the bracket that the ground tab bolts to could be not getting a good connection, the 10mm bolt that holds it on, remove it and make sure the paint is removed from the mating surfaces so the contact is good..

Eric, it is attached to the 10mm bolt and I did scrap some paint off to get a good connection. Ya sending 12V+ to the sender could have caused some issues.

Patrick from SPA finally got back to me and said that you must zero the gauge with the engine off. I was zeroing it with the engine at idle. We'll see if it works after doing that.
