Just doin a little research. I am using time zones as definitions of location may vary with political climate. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif Oh, and thanks to Burner for the Geography lesson!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif Edited by: EMSi

I put in my reply but this can hardly be a scientific poll since a very small percentage of Duramax owners are here on this forum.
Even those who are here are those who more likely had a problem and are looking for solutions.
Just my .02 cents

HD-Nate - You are correct, the purpose of this poll is not to ascertain the percentage of owners who have had injector issues. But rather to see if there is a relationship between failures and location both within the respective countries but also from one country to another. I am curious to know how much of a part the different refineries and if there are different fuel specs between countries, how they also may affect the injector issue. Also not going to be exacting numbers, but there may be trends that one could use.

Ok... I give-up. I live in the Mountain time zone... Do I have to have a mechanical failure to vote? My '01 failed 3x's My 04 has not.
TazMan - I'm not sure what you mean by mechanical failure but I'm looking for injectors that have been deemed unusable by GM for whatever reason.

EMSi; with all the government regulations we have here, we have GOT to have better quality fuel. The government has their nose into everything. Why would fuel be any different?
Heavy sigh..... but than again, we're talking the Canadian govt http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

It would also be interesting to know where the LLY injectors are failing. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif

Dang, looks like Im in the leading area right now, at least that is Eric's territory!
Wow - 20 of the 200 or so views that have had injector issues. Not the point of the poll but lower than I expected.
Max Owner: I agree that there are potentially different standards for fuel that must be met as set by the federal governments. Usually we are a little closer behind the europeans when it comes to government intervention than our friends to the south. It seems to me that at some point there was mention that the entire fuel system designed by Bosch was tested using european grade diesel fuel, which I believe is held to a much higher standard than the bunker sea oil we are burning in the Americas.

Hopefully something will show up in the poll.

Maybe we could get some member to get an excell spread sheet together, have everyone post thier milage failures yes or no and at what milage, if reoccuring, and locations. Mix that with added filtration for a majority of service yes no and an additive yes no. also year of the truck. Programing yes no. Anything else I'm missing?
It would be interesting but not a good true crossection. We are generaly enthusiasts or trouble prone not ther general driving population for the most part.
No problems for me knock on wood, stock filtration and 29k.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

no 'non injector issue choice?'
