FIrst post - have a question regarding transfer tanks on your pickups. I am looking to build a tank to up my fuel capacity. I talked to someone who piped a line from the bottom of the tank to the fuel filler hose and put a solenoid from an older style chevy diesel with the dual tanks and just turned one side on and hold until the tank was full. curious if anyone else has ever tried or seen this. I'm in Texas, so almost everything is legal (loose emissions, etc) and please before it starts, i'm not buying a Transfer Flow, i'm building my own. Thanks for the help.

I have a line going to the fill neck. I have a 7 psi pump. It works good. It is not as good as taping directly into the fuel lines but it also does not require a fuel guage. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

It's fairly easy, Good Luck!

Curious Tazman, why would you need a second fuel gauge? also, where did you get your pump at.

Aggiejon-

A second guage for the aux, just to know where your at. I got the pump at Car Quest. It seems to be of better quality than the cheeper pumps i've used. I use the aux tank alot. Without a guage the pump keeps working till I see the main tank guage is not moving. Hence, pumping without fuel in the line, shortening the pump life. I've thought on putting a filter on the aux tank...
