So with an AFE, do I have to cut the MAF off the airbox? Seems prettty much one piece on my 03...

OK, so the plug pulls out the whole assembly and just insert the sample tube into the new tube is what I am assuming, roger that. None of my vehicles have had a MAF setup like this, usually the MAF is its own tube.

Yes the stock maf sensor unplugs ... Push down on the top snap clip part and remove wire connector ... The "kit" should have came with a special bit that will remove the screws if you bought a stage II from the OEM snorkel ....Unscrew and pull straight up ... There will be little resistance as it fits snugly in stock snorkel ... Use new screws,phillips,supplied to reinstall maf sensor in Afe tube.... Did you get the new generation filter for dusty conditions ?? There is two elements available now,Magnum Force and ?? I can't recall the name ....
