http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif When I turn my engine off, I notice a loud rattle coming from the passenger side. It happens about half a second after you turn the ignition off and the truck is shaking. Any Ideas? Could it be a motor mount or something else?

I have something similar. I believe mine to be the serpentine belt. The auto tensioner thingy.
But, I haven't really looked into it though.

if you have an aftermarket air filter it could be that. mine did the same thing and it turned out to be my k&n filter hitting the bottom of the factory air intake mounting bracket. just pull up a little on the intake tube and it should be ok. mine seems to need adjusted every couple of months.http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big%20Smile.gif i thought it was my tranny. was i embarrased to find out what it really was. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif i have to admit, i was happy to find out that it wasn't mechainicalhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

It's fairly common for one of the hanger brackets to break off on the turbo down pipe on the right side of the motor not to far down from the turbo. They can be re-welded on for repair.

The bolts holding the exhaust hanger bracket to the transmission were left loose when my clutch slave cylinder was replaced. That caused quite a clatter on shut down. I was thinking flywheel or worse. I was very relieved when I slid under and saw the loose bolts.

Dmaxfan,
I had the same noise and it turned out to be my K&N filter banging into the case surrounding it and the fender. I had to tighten the clamp on the filter and it went away. Good luck
