When looking at Autozone's web site the other day I noticed that they carry fuel filters for the Duramax, I'm wondering if anyone has run these and what the results are? Thanks in advance.

It has been said here many times that Racor makes all the fuel filters for DMax, and I assume that is still the case. More than likely just a different box and another color paint.

Before you order them over the web make sure you get a look at what you are getting. I have noticed that the picture of the filter for the DMAX is not a canister type, but more of the in-one-end-out-the-other type as found on gasoline engines. I have yet to be able to buy a filter at Autozone or Advanced Auto....in all fairness though I bought a quantity from one of the supporting vendors and haven't been back to AZ or AA (no I don't drink) for awhile now. Buyer beware.

My first filter came from there. $30.00 plus tax and had to order. Then, when it arrived it was in a box without plastic wrap around the filter and I could see rust on the unpainted steel inside through the WIF sensor opening. Reorder and replacement had the plastic wrapping as well as the box. No problem with the filter as it is they are the same manufacturer.
