I think I have decided to purchase a programer, most likely the Predator. Here are the reasons why.

1. I want to improve roll on power (I'm not a tire burner)
2. I would enjoy the bennefit of improved efficiency (with an easy right foot)
3. Extra power when pulling 35 ft. Toyhauler fifth wheel

Now here are my questions.

1. Will I kill the tranny doing occasional roll ons say when entering freeway on ramps or passing in the 85 hp mode or higher?

2. Do I need to upgrade anything else or install gauges to enjoy any of the new found power or will I be fine stock provided i'm not continually loading it up?

3. If there is something else I SHOULD add what would be most important?

I run Crazy Larry from Bully Dog and no tranny probs! I would deff do a 4" turbo back exhaust and a Pyro guage so you know your not melting your turbo when hauling that 35 ftr.

If you want a little added power with minimal effects on the truck and the trans, you might consider the predator or bully dog programmers. You do not want to run the crazy larry, as it will over time tear up your transmission. You will not kill the tranny with occasional rolls ons, you just need to be careful in 5th and 6th gears. You might want to consider the transgo jr kit install, it will help your transmission. I would also consider a 4" cat back or turbo back exhaust (you will need the finger stick and blocker plate to run a turbo back system.

That or get yourself a ppe hot+2 tuner and run the lower levels and you will only need a blocker plate and you can turn the egr off not splicing into the wires for the finger ,and a 4" mbrp turbo back would work nice. and some trans goodies along the way good luck and have fun

The predator is a good programmer. Just stay away from the 120 setting. Keep it at 85 or less and you'll be fine. The 85 tune is about the limit for what a stock tranny can handle.

Thanks for your comments guys, I think it would be fun to go hog wild and have my father in law scratching his head if had to work to beat me light to light in his 911, but I think that would be quite an expensive endevour.

Definately install the EGT gauge. Predator doesn't recommend running over the tow tune when towing. Running the 85 towing a fiver you will get hot REAL fast.

I put the MBRP on as well. It dropped my EGT's a couple of huns.
