Well this morning i pumped 21 gallons of fuel into my tank, drove about 3 miles before it started running rough...Didnt think much about it, went and had breakfast and tried to re-start my truck to no avail...


After having it towed, went on to work, to get a call from the service manager about 10 minutes after i left.....hold on to your seat!!!


He informed me that i had filled up with gas, not diesel, and it is going to cost $721.00 to remedy the situation...


I know that I fouled up, but is this what it cost???


...and everyone thought that $2.00/gallon was high!

Well it's going to be spendy dropping the tank and cleaning out the rest of the system, hopefully you didn't do in the injection pump or the injectors.


One of the biggest expenses will be the disposal of the fuel. Unless someone wants to take it and burn it through their beater truck or something, the dealer will have to pay HazMat disposal fees to get rid of the contaminated fuel.

That's kind of what i figured...

Buddy did the same thing with his Ford, We siphoned it out, filled with fresh diesel and had no problem, Put the gas in your non diesel vehicle, It might smoke just a bit but won't hurt it


DIY, save the $700, take your wife/girlfriend out for dinner. If you spend it on the dealer, you really are getting screwed

If you figure the price per gallon, it worked out to $35.44 per gallon....
