I never forget a friend, a favor, or an injustice, so fair's fair:

A couple of months ago, Banks reflashed my new 3rd-party-purchased six-gun to version 2, immediately on the spot, while I waited a few minutes after I arrived at their door unannounced. I finally got around to installing it this past Sunday, and was quite displeased to discover the unit was defective- no leds on powerup. Of course, their TS is closed on weekends when everybody does their installs. For all I know, the thing may have already been returned bad to the place I bought it from.

Monday morning, one quick (well, 12 mins in queue) call to tech support produced an MRA number, and then I did another surprise attack on their door (I have the luxury of being 30 mins away). Result was a brand new box on the spot, immediately while I waited a few minutes, no questions asked, no investigate and repair BS, no concern about the third-party dealer, not even a request to see a purchase invoice for warranty dating.

Banks may not make the meanest race box out there, but their customer service is topnotch as far as I am concerned. If they add any features or more power to the 'gun, or come out with other good toys for the DMax, I would not hesitate to buy their products; They seem to back them up quite fully. I can't help wondering why others have had such problems with Banks c/s. Attitude involved, maybe ?

Peter and Colin, if you see this, pass my praise on to the boys, and to Joe in T/S this past Monday morning at 7am.

And no, I don't work for frig'in Banks, though we did do their phones many moons ago when they were a much smaller company. Sure didn't get me any discount talking to their Sales group.

But yesterday i put a call into inezz in c/s and joe in tech. assistance and was promised a call back today after a talk with engineering and never recieved it. I have always heard nothing but the best from banks (reason i bought from them), yet again i have received nothing like that. Will put in another call tommarow.</TD></TR>

Well i did recieve a call from t/a at banks. Said they did not know what was going on. I asked them to take a brand new one out of the box and try it on their 03, beat the crap out of it and make sure its right b-4 they send it to me, (not to much to ask for if you ask me, seeings nothing but problems since new). They said they would get back to me in the morning. Morning came and gone and no call. I called and t/a and they said they want me to send in my old module and reprogram it, said no. After fighting with cust. service i might just be getting a new module, providing tech. assistance calls me back like they say they are supposed to. So far banks sucks!!! (in my case)

Not to pull this thread away from it's title, but out of curiousity, what is your module doing?

I was wondering the same thing. OOC, what exactly is the original technical issue, and with what product. I don't remember seeing that posted. Several of us have most or all of your same Banks stuff installed, too.

Firtst one was the old version, which i recieved after being told i have to wait three weeks (when i ordered) for the new version to be done and still received the old one. Got the new one and it has this runability issue. Oh, and if it matters i have the big head, exhaust, and three gauge pod from banks also.</TD></TR>

Why don't you borrow an Edge or something else easy to put on and see if it causes problems. Maybe check your injectors and regulator while operating with a scanner. Just a thought.

Baddmax396, Maybe a road trip up to Kennedy's on the 3,4 or 5 of sept is in order ??! you could put it on the dyno with your banks, then try edge's stuff and make a comparrison on them with all the gm guys around ??? Just an idea. Did you pm Colin Banks ??? sounds like he was real interested in your problem and wants to help make it right ??

I haven't done any hi pro mods to mine yet so let us know what you end up with..... Watching with antisipation,
