I would say fishing line between the ventshade and the tape is going to be your best bet..

They make an eraser wheel for removing striping and the 3M tape.

I like the fishing line method and a hair dryer to help it along.

The fishing line will help remove the shades.....but the eraser wheel is definately the best way to remove the tape. Any body repair supplier will carry these....and they will work in your drill

Try buying it at Carquest or NAPA You can use it on a drill
