: EDGE - EVO vs. Juice/***
Dontcross 01-28-2007, 06:28 PM Ok, I finally traded my LB7 in on a LBZ. Edge has since come out with the EVO and the Juice/Attitude with turbo timer. What are the big differences? I know that the EVO doesn't have the turbo timer and connects through the OBDII, but other than that, I'm lost.
DMAXXED 01-28-2007, 07:40 PM I went with the Evo so I can calibrate for my larger tires. It also can plug into your computer for updated programs in the future.
Z71offroader 01-29-2007, 12:24 AM i just got my evo friday. reason for me getting it was it had built in guages, added good power in 3 different levels, costs $300 less then the juice w/***. and you can also update it online.
Horsepower Upgrades 01-29-2007, 11:51 AM A few of the biggest differences are no 'on the fly adjustment' with the Evo, no turbo timer and I am sure I am leaving something out, oh yes no personal loan to finance the Juice with Attitude.....I knew I was forgetting something.
Dontcross 01-30-2007, 11:08 PM The juice/attitude is only $160 more than the EVO. xtremediesel.com has the best prices I've seen. Anyone have any other thoughts? Is on the fly adjustability and the turbo timer the only features lost with the EVO?
I just bought the Evo for less than they offer. I should have it in by friday. I went with the Evo cause it was alittle less and I can correct for my tire sizes.
GardnerDmax7 02-06-2007, 10:14 PM Thoroughbreddiesel.com has the best price that I have seen.
newduramaxguy 02-07-2007, 01:19 AM I must say I liked the on the fly adjustability with the J/A(somewhat a negative for the EVO) but I like the fact that you can plug the EVO right into your computer and update it....a big plus!
CRASHNBURN 02-07-2007, 02:16 PM I like the juice because, if I have a problem with it I can just disconnect it & go with my stock truck. If you get a bad flash, your truck might be sitting & have to tow it to the dealer for a reflash. The juice is a module so it does not leave a track. The juice also does have the shift on the fly & the turbo timer. The evo is nice because you can upgrade too. My vote would be the juice.
SnowBandit 02-07-2007, 09:23 PM How many times do you have a bad upload to the computer?? I a little worried about long trips and causing issues... EVO seems the best to me for what I need...
Two things I worry about
1) dealership figureing out I have a chip
2) issue while 1,000 miles from home...
gmcya 02-08-2007, 09:39 AM 1) dealership figureing out I have a chip
not unless you tell them you do.
I have updated mine 3 times and changed levels alot playing around.
I rather have the ability to read and clead codes, see what gear I am in, adjust for my tires, set the speed limiter at 200:eek: than have the shift on the fly capability. Even though you can adjust the levels on the fly with the juice the tranny still needs time to learn the new level. Going from level 1 to 5 on the J/A and stomping it will roast a stock tranny. It takes me less than 1 minute to adjust levels. The J/A does offer the instant smoke on demand though;) .

I'm 99% sure the J/A for the LBZ can read and clear codes. It can atleast read them my dad has one on his LBZ. Also you can display what gear you are in on the attitude. Someone correct me if I'm worng. Just trying to get the info straight for someone trying to decide between the two :)
1lowdiesel 02-08-2007, 10:20 AM yea it clears codes, also you can adjust for throttle response with the j/a, and shift de-fueling. i personally switched from the outlook monitor to the j/a just for those features alone.hated taking off like a jet then falling on it's face between gears. yea it does suck that you can't remove the gov though. but thats why i kept my pup.
o yea and we also will beat any price on the web so don't be afraid to ask me.
bikerboy37 02-10-2007, 09:40 AM I'm struggling with which one to get too. Had a J/A on my 04.5 and LOVED to smoke out those who got in my way ! The feature that appeals to me on the evo is the speed limiter. Unfortunately there is no "smoke" option on it - lol
Anyone know if the speed limiter (disable) feature is coming up on a future version of the J/A ??? Might be worth-while waiting.....
cumminstrokthis 02-10-2007, 11:57 AM We all just need to convince edge for a smoke tune update for the EVO.
WHISTLER.06 02-10-2007, 02:52 PM Thoroughbreddiesel.com has the best price that I have seen.
yea man i live in thesame town as these guys they have done all my mods and purchases. just honest downhome good ole boys.:chevy:
richierich 02-10-2007, 03:04 PM I got my evo from throughbreddiesel.com and installed it last weekend. on level 3 no smoke but from the tires. this thing rocks.
2006, 3500, lbz, allisons trans., crew cab, long bed, dually:ro)
CRASHNBURN 02-10-2007, 04:21 PM "I rather have the ability to read and clead codes, see what gear"
The juice can do both of these. I am sure.
I doubt they will go for the smoke tune. They are trying to develop tunes with the smoke because the new trap will have problems with the smoke.
TIM Z 02-10-2007, 06:34 PM I agree, i love the gear indicator on my attitude. It really is one sweet little package .I love the readouts and the fueling option. But the not having the speed limiter control is a bummer, but that's why i kept my Hypertech , i have the speed limiter removed and tire size programmed with it to keep the stock cluster reading what it should;)
