Has anybody installed a new super tank in a CC LWB yet using the new tank that does not require removing stock cooler? How many gallons total did it take to fill - I think they are advertising 70. Is their protector skid plate as good or better than the factory one? Any problems? I have been a transfer flow dealer, but the super tank has more capacity and I am thinking of going to supertank. tom
Afterthought - just talked to SuperTanks again - AND - for the LWB 2500HD CC their 70 gal tank is really only 62 gal. They are in the process of changing their ad. Only 6 gal more than Transferflow which is a really tough steel tank and less money. HMMMMMMMM - anybody got any comments. tomEdited by: gardnerteam

I have a 75 gallon Supertank on my 3500. My thoughts are:
1). The tank is made of very thick plastic and appears to be tough.
2). I hangs down below the frame on the driver's side and may be susceptible to high-centering.
3). The skid plate is galvanized steel -- Supertanks could tell you the gauge.
4). The fuel cooler is large and seems well built. It is much larger than the factory cooler and looks like it will get better airflow. Never heard of anyone having a problem with it.
5). I have towed my 11,000 lb. trailer at 75 MPH with 97 degree fahrenheit temperature with no problems.
Good product. Love the extra capacity. Seems tough. If I was in the habit of getting high-centered with the factory tank, might look for a different solution.

Tom
If you are going to do the supertank, let me know. I'm thinking of using one and i'd like to see it installed.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike - I'm gonna do something. I am not happy that the hyped 70 gal Supertank is only 62 gal, only 6 more than Transfer Flo 56. Transferflo is less money, a history of great service for my customers, and steel. Transferflo also has a new in bed 70 gal unit which only takes up about 18" or so of the bed and it is also cheap. This would get rid of the lower than frame tank (both transferflo 56 and Supertank 70) and I would not need a lift kit. I beat the holy hell out of my transfer flow, dragging it over dirt mounds, rock ledges, and literally tons of mud in 73,000 miles, and it was perfect. I like not having a separate skid plate that fills up with water, cinders, or mud between the tank and skidplate. I also like the fact that Transferflo has always been honest about their gallonages, actually even conservative on some, while Super tank was not and has been apparently caught. No excuse for that. Let me do a little more research. My truck is here next week and I have a couple of months to prep it for Central America, which includes buying a set of LLY injectors to carry with me. At least I'll be able to change them if I need to. Give me a call if you with - I'm in the book as Tom & Linda
