my 2001 duramax from a stop and then quickly accelerates and when it shift from 2nd to 3rd it will pin the rev limiter and slowsdown alot then you have to let off the accelerator for it to shift. I took it too a tranny shop and they told me the allison tranny was low on oil so i had it serviced. A little while after i got it back it did the same thing so then i decided to take it to chevy so that they can diagnose it. Chevy told me that the transmission was overfilled and that it threw the perameters of the computer off and that would have to be reflashed. I didnt have chevy fix it because i had someone else work on it and thay said they would take care of it but they say that the tranny oil level was fine and that Chevy diangosned my truck wrong. They want to look further into my tranny again and nobody seems to know what it goig on with the tranny. My truck is throwing alot of codes here they are:

The Allison A/T is a good solid reliable transmission. Don't bother with independent shops. Go to a Allison authorized/licensed shop, you'll be money ahead in the long term. Many Chevrolet dealer service departments don't even have Allison authorized technicians. Where I live there is only one in the county, a GMC dealership.
