At the ATS dyno day in Colorado a couple of weeks ago me and sp33d were trying to lock my truck in 5th gear with his tech2 so I wouldn't limp my tranny, with no luck locking it completely out of 5th gear, low and behold my number 4 injector was showing a +8.0 reading on his tech2. Sp33d said that my injector was bad and I should take it in. shortly after that at idle it make a horrible knocking sound almost as if I have a bent rod!!!

So I take it to my local dealer and they say that they are going to charge me a $100 fee to diagnose it if it's not under the GM factory warranty http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif. I really don't wanna pay $100 bucks if its something thats not covered under the factory warranty, so can you tell me what does GM look at to tell if its under warranty??? will just the reading on the tech2 be good enough to replace the injectors under the factory warranty??

Please help, Thanks http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

the new injector policy makes the 100 deductable dissapear. IF they do find that the balance rates are high and the knocking sound comes back, which is an injector, then they should replace all eight injectors. I would hope that they have no reason to look for suspicious activity like remains of boxes etc.

So, if just the balance rates are off is that enough to replace them??? The knocking only happens every so often and you know how that goes, everytime you take your truck into the shop it never make the noise!!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Thanks a bunch!!!

A few questions if you do not mind.

Milage?

Secondary filtration?

Additive?
