Recently ordered GM #12463528 vent visor and got it last week. I am only installing the front driver and passenger visors, opt out the rear door visors. Opened the packaged and fit tested. It fits, somewhat. The wedge corner end which will touch the mirror unit fits fine, but the other end, seems to be sticking out about 1" past the contour of window. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Mine is '02 extended cab. Edited by: wxmn6

I used the "in channel" vent visors, got em from stylinconcepts. They fit great and they dont stick on. I prefer to the in channle to the stick on kind

Sent back the GM vent visors. I am going to order through different company such as VentShade. I want the front driver/passenger visors ONLY, no extended cab window visors. My question is - can I order a set that is specifically for regular cab (because it has only two front visors) but will it fit my extended cab truck? Are the front windows on regular and extended cab exactly the same? Thanks.

Yep, all of the front doors are the same, I just installed the Auto Ventshade "Quik-Snap" visors on mine that fit in the channel (no tape) the part number is 122006, if you prefer a lighter tint you can go with the in channel visors by Weather Tech.
If for some reason you prefer the stick on Vent Visors the part number is 92956.

I bought my Quik-Snaps from Summit Racing (http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=esearch.asp&N=100&Ntk=PartSearch&Ntt=avs-122006)for $39.95

Any increase in wind noise from the in-channel style visors?, that would drive me nuts http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif

I've had the Weather Tech in-channel visors on (front doors only) for over a year now and really like them. Great fit, light tint that doesn't block your vision and very useful for rain-tight ventilation when parked. No wind noise, but you can't ride with the windows cracked open in rain or when windshield washing because the windshield runoff wraps right around the front and blows into your face. They fit great and snapped right in right out of the box. When I put on my TTT mirrors they had some significantly larger bases. At first I thought I was out of luck on the visors, but I went ahead and "stuffed" the front edges down under the mirror bases and they are still working great!

No noise at all, I've had both he Weather-Tech and now these Auto Vent Shade "in-channel" visors.

Like Tom said, the Weather-Techs have a lighter tint than the AVS, I've had Weather Techs since 99 and this is my first set of AVS "dark" visors but I don't notice any blocked vision and they do a better job of blocking bright sunlight but it's a matter of preference.

I've had Lucerix and TTT mirrors on my past trucks with the visors and they fit just fine with the mirrors.

I've heard that the snap-in type will sometimes mess up aftermarket front window tint because it makes the channel tighter. Not sure if that is true or not, but something to consider....

I've had the in-channel visors on my 3 previous trucks all with tint and never had a problem, I haven't tinted the new truck yet.

Cool, I didn't know if that was true or not. Which type have you used..the ventshade or weathertech?

I had the Weather-Techs on 3 trucks with tint, I have the Auto Vent Shades now on my 04, I haven't tinted the windows yet but I don't expect any problems.

When I had tint on a previous car and truck it was inside the window. The Weather Tech shade fits in the channel and contacts the outside of the window. I don't have tint, but mine is pretty tight at the bottom front due to being forced under the mounting for the TTT mirrors. Rubs pretty good, but leaves no marks or causes no problems.

The big brown truck stopped by here a couple days ago and I just installed the two pieces set (front visors only) today and it fits my extended cab perfectly. Looks very good! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley16.gifFYI I went with stick-on and it wasn't hard to put them on. I'd like them to stay on year round so I have no reason to remove them. Thanks to those who helped! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

I've had the weathertech on my truck since day. The fronts were taken off my trade in truck and reused and are the lighter ones. I bought the dark ones for the rears. Reason for light and dark is that it almost perfectly matches my front and rear factory tints that way.

Well, the only thing really bugging me about my great truck is the fact that rain is about to destroy all the electrics on my doors when I fail to raise the window all the way. I am sure if I fry the switches, they will claim it was my responsability to ensure that I closed them. This is the first vehicle I have owned with this problem in over 30 years of driving. I have read the reviews, and perused other posts, but could those of you out there share your experiences further on this issue....please!

Things such as being able to use them while driving, and installation problems, snags etc. , would be appreciated highly! I have owned this gem for 2 weeks and counting, and nearly 2K miles and got my 1st ticket.....hee, hee, 82 in a 65 zone. I laugh because my cruise control is defective. I found that the speed creeps up ever so slowly and just yesterday quit. Uh, sounds like grounds for a defective equipment which better be a good defense!

Anyway, sorry I changed the subject, and I really need to fix this nasty deluge on to the door electrics etc. Links and such would be helpful also! This sure is a great board, with alot of fine input!

Got EGR's for x-mas and so far so good, although I am unclear as to what you guys are talking about tucking them under the mirrors? mine just sit in the window recess, just wondering if maybe I wedged them in wrong...
